The newest leaf emerges in a beautiful deep burgundy-red tone, giving the plant a dramatic appearance while young. As the leaf matures, the colour gradually deepens and settles into the darker foliage characteristic of this cross. 

This seedling is currently showing low-level variegation,the variegation is subtle rather than dominant, adding extra interest without taking away from the plant’s naturally dark appearance.

The combination of dark foliage, strong red emergent growth and evolving variegation makes this seedling especially interesting to watch as it develops.

As with all variegated seedlings, future leaves may vary in colour, pattern and level of variegation as the plant matures.
